Map terms & sources

Where the map data comes from, how the 3D models are made, and what to keep in mind when exploring.

Using the map

The map helps you explore buildings, neighbourhoods and nearby properties. It is an illustrative view, not a survey or a verified representation of an apartment’s view, floor or exact position. Building heights, facade details and roof finishes may be estimated. Coverage and place information may be incomplete or out of date.

Nearby distances are measured in a straight line. They are not walking or driving distances, school catchment boundaries or an indication of admission eligibility. Property counts refer to listings available on PolePosition, not the whole market. Confirm property details and availability with the advertiser.

OpenStreetMap

Much of the map’s building geometry, streets and local places comes from © OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.

The source information and downloadable map database are available below. Attribution and licence notices remain included with the data.

Microsoft building outlines

In Mira Oasis and DAMAC Hills 2, the map uses supplementary outlines from Microsoft Global ML Building Footprints. This open dataset uses machine learning to identify building outlines from satellite imagery.

These outlines help fill gaps in the mapped buildings. They do not provide verified building names or heights. The supplementary homes are displayed with an illustrative height of 7 metres; outlines can merge multiple homes and may contain errors.

The dataset is provided under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive 2.0. The source release used here is dated 13 August 2026.

Landmarks, schools & universities

Detailed exteriors combine mapped geometry with illustrative architectural elements. Campus locations, building volumes and mapped outdoor facilities come from available OpenStreetMap data. Facade patterns, roof trim and field markings are illustrative. Some locations do not yet have building geometry.

The education directory is a collection of mapped locations, not a complete or independently verified register of active institutions. Check current names, facilities and admissions directly with the institution.
